Solace is the third album by the New Zealand post-rock band Jakob. It was released in New Zealand on September 11, 2006.
In comparison to the band's earlier albums, which focused more on melody and eeriness, Solace showcases a significant evolution towards a darker, heavier, moodier Post-Metal sound that is reminiscent of the work of such band as ISIS, Pelican and Cult Of Luna.
The first single off the album is Safety in Numbers[1], which is available for download on the Midium Records MySpace page. A video for the song has been shot by Ed Davis, and is available at his website [2].
The second single will be Twice As Hard according to New Zealand On Air[3]. This song does not appear on the album. This may be a non-album song, or a mistake on the webpage.
